Your stay


  • You’re welcome to check-in from 4pm on your day of arrival.

    You can also speed up check-in by registering your details online before you arrive.

  • Rooms must be vacated by check-out at 11am on your day of departure.

  • Yes! We love welcoming dog to Windermere Manor and you can find out more here.

    There’s no charge to bring a pet if you book directly with us on windermeremanorhotel.com or by phone on 01539 445 801.

    A £10 per dog per night charge applies for bookings made via third-party booking sites.

  • Absolutely. We have family rooms which can accommodate up to 2 adults and 2 children in bunk beds. Our restaurant also has high-chairs for your little ones.

  • As a small, 35-room hotel we’re ideal for group bookings. We have single, double, twin and family rooms so can accommodate most groups.

    Please note that we do not accept hen or stag groups.

  • Early check-in and late check-out is subject to availability. A charge of £25 applies for early check-in or late checkout, and this is strictly by prior arrangement. Call the team to discuss your specific requirements.

  • We only have a small amount of baggage space and are happy to store this for you on your day of arrival or departure if space permits.

  • Yes, our heated pool is open daily from 8am until 8pm. Simply collect the key from Reception when you’re ready to take a dip.

    Please note that there is no lifeguard on duty.

  • We are unable to supply travel cots for babies but you are welcome to bring one with you. We do advise however that space may be limited in Standard Double Rooms so we recommend getting in touch in advance,

Your room


  • We do have accessible accommodation. Historically, Windermere Manor was owned for a charity for people with visual impairment so we have some excellent facilities for guests.

  • All rooms are en suite and each has either a shower or a bath with a shower over. Accessible rooms have roll-in showers.

    If you have a specific requirement, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

  • All rooms have free WiFi, a hairdryer, TV, tea and coffee facilities, towels and toiletries, a wardrobe or hanging space, a desk and heating.

  • We have single, double, twin, family and accessible rooms. You can also choose Standard, Club and Superior rooms. To learn more visit the Rooms page.

  • Club and Superior rooms come with additional extras including bathrobes to use during your stay, mineral water, upgraded toiletries in the en suite and typically have better views and/or are larger.

    Our Superior Rooms located in the cottages in our grounds enjoy access to a patio with outside seating.

  • As a historic building, every room at Windermere is different so the room may not be exactly as pictured although the same facilities will be available. Images are representative only.

Dining


  • Our Restaurant is open from breakfast from 7am until 9:30am, and for lunch and dinner from Noon until 9pm, with last orders at 8:30pm.

    We also have a selection of menu items available to order 24 hours a day, and chocolate bars and crisps are available from the bar.

  • Our full breakfast buffet is available from 8am until 10am daily. A continental selection is available from 7am.

  • We serve a buffet, full English breakfast and plenty of pastries, yoghurt, fruit and more if you prefer a Continental selection.

  • All of our bedroom prices are including breakfast.

    We also welcome non-residents for £11.50 per person.

  • We do offer Afternoon Tea and this can be taken in the Drawing Room, in the conservatory or on our Terrace, overlooking Lake Windermere.

  • Yes, we’re happy to welcome members of the public to dine in the Restaurant.

  • We don’t offer room service but we have a selection of menu items which are available 24 hours a day. You can order by phone and collect your meal from the bar.

The location


  • Free onsite parking is available on a first come first served basis although spaces are not guaranteed.

    Alternative paid parking facilities are available locally at Rayrigg Meadow Car Park, approx 0.5 miles away, postcode LA23 1BP.

  • Windermere Railway Station is just one mile away. Oxenholme Lake District is on the West Coast Mainline and is around 14 miles away.

  • Windermere Train Station is one mile away from the hotel. Its around 4 minutes in a taxi or, if you don’t have to carry lots of bags, it’s around a 15 minute walk and you can enter the hotel grounds from the back gate on Ambleside Road.

  • Windermere Manor Hotel is around 1.5 miles from Bowness-on-Windermere.

  • Junction 36 of the M6 is 16 miles from the hotel which is around a 25 minute drive.

  • Manchester (MAN) is the closet International Airport and is around 90 miles south of the hotel.

  • LA23 1JF

  • Exit the M6 at Junction 36 and turn left onto A591. Follow signs to Windermere for 16 miles staying on the A591. Do not turn left at Windermere village but carry on to Ambleside. At the mini-roundabout take the first left onto Rayrigg Road. The hotel driveway is on the first left, opposite the view point.
